What do you mean by decent women? By the world's standards? If so there are a lot pf them out there. If you mean by Scriptural standards then that narrows it down quite a bit and that goes the same for men. Are they out there? Of course they are but by whose standard are you willing to live by and commit to?

I was asking by YOUR standards as an individual, not someone else's or society's. :^)

I was afraid you may have been asking that and that is why I made the point I did. Ultimately my standards really don't matter, but I do know of the standards that do matter. My standards are based upon a godly standard and that is where it stands. I believe God will provide a wife for me someday and one who will have the same high standards. If one is not equally yoked then one will have even more troubles.
Each one of us IS influenced by someone else whether it is our society, neighbor, or God.
Thanks

Hmmm, while I agree that each of us IS influenced by some degree to our upbringing, environment and social interactions through life, you do have free will and life experience. Faith is one thing, but surely only a foundation of the conscious choices you make. Isn't that - ultimately - what life is about? Isn't that what makes each of us who we are, rather than clones of something/someone else. Unique? And sometimes even Inspirational. That's my view, anyway. Each to their own. :^)

I agree Firefly that we all have freewill and I am thankful for it. We have freewill to make the choice to live odly lives or lives determined by ourselves or society as a whole or something else. It is like the alphabet, each letter is its own entity and has a meaning, yet when put together with other letters it forms either good words or bad and it also depends upon the one forming them. So it is with us, are we influenced by God or by other means and so again the question arises, what is then meant by 'decent,' whether men or women. Does decent mean being just nice and considerate, loving and not poking fun at the other or not cutting another down? Yet at the same time having sexual relations outside of marriage or an unhealthy emotional one outside the bonds of marriage that can lead to sexual relations? Or is decent meaning one who is considerate, loving, kind =, and respects the opposite sex as someone special and regards them high enough to keep their hands off until marriage because if the relationship fails on a intellectual level or emotional level then that person may become someone elses spouse and if you had the hands on experience then you have then violated that person as well as their future spouse.
Just another perspective and questions that don't seem to be ever looked at or into.
Thanks Michael
