Oops...meant to quote the link about making potable water in the desert...

This is interesting! I spent a night camping in a desert once in the open air, using a (stupid me) down sleeping bag. Woke up in the middle of the night shivering frozen because of the cold moisture that had soaked my sleeping bag. I doubt it would have been potable but I could have wrung a couple of quarts out of that one!

Boy, I hit the jackpot! This is the place to be when one cannot go to sleep at night! Thank you all for some enlightening information.

And I'll add my own usless tidbit:

If a cow gives birth to twins, one heifer and one bull, over 99% of the time the heifer will be sterile.

I know a little bit of the Irish language. It's near the top of the list of things I'd like to learn more of.

I can spend weeks making a blanket for one of my children and they will almost always decide it's a cool dog bed liner. And they send me pictures of the dog on my creation with the damn cell phone that I'm paying for. note: the dog is not on the cell phone. the picture is sent via the cell phone. .

I can use a divining rod and find water.

I was taught this by a gold prospector who met Geronimo when he was a little boy.

I actually was taught divining with both a witch-hazel stick and a pair of copper rods inside brass sleeves. I have much more success with the brass & copper.

I am the son of a ditch digger and he (my dad) can divine water too.

It is often dismissed by science but I can actually do it.

I could take you for a walk and identify many wild plants, their uses and if they are edible or not. Isn't that exciting news Anthony.

Hi, Happysoul, we could go for a walk together! I know some about plants, and a lot about mushrooms.
