my daughter just returned from her study abroad program in france. although she loved it there....there's no place like home.

there are certain foods that she couldn't get there. it's funny how we manage to get somewhat dependent on silly things like that and truely miss them when we are away.

I'm not sure this is silly since Oreos are the best-selling cookie in the USA (believe it or not)

I remember that my wife and I couldn't find wash cloths at any of the (cheap) hotels we stayed in when we visited Europe. We eventually found (and bought) something called a "wash mitten" at some store in the Netherlands. You're right, it's funny the things we get used to.

Leo is shocked that we don't have Oreo Cookies.

That's because we have excellent and sophisticated taste.

We don't have grits either. The only grit we have is mixed with salt and spread on icy roads.

But we have Marmite.

Yeah, and you also have kidney pie.

Marmite tasted just like it sounds, a cross between boiled marmot and fried mites.

And you have warm beer.
