Weak nails are very common. They can be caused by almost anything. Nails composed of keratin (protein) and minerals. They provide protection for the finger tips and should be strong, flexible, smooth and glossy.
Weak and brittle nails are most often associated with external factors and low estrogen levels associated with aging. When the body isn't receiving enough nutrients, or doesn't absorb them properly, the deficiency may surface the nails. Abnormal or unhealthy nails may also be the result of a local injury, or nail diseases. Therefore it is very important to contact the doctor for observation.

I work in a Childcare facility and you know how often we have to wash our hands, smile. I have been wearing tips for over three years, I would like just to wear my own but they are so soft now and usually when they break off it's sometimes almost half way my nail. Would the suggestions you stated help me? Glad you started this group my friend, much success to you.
