O.k. call me dense... I just re-read your original inquiry and realize you prefer alternative music NOT in that 80's or 90's... so sorry. And yes I do like some of the new Alt Rock. Have you heard Paramore? I consider them somewhat Alt rock... their practically kids, but good stuff coming out of TN and already getting a lot of international attention.

Oh yes! I love all those bands. It seems weird to be considered "too old" to like that kind of music now. I was in my twenties when the the Seattle grunge scene was big and loved it then and still love it. It seems like hip-hop and rap has pretty much dominated the music scene now for young kids. I just can't get into that. I will be stuck in the '90's forever I guess, though it is a bit disturbing to picture myself rocking out to Soundgarden and Nirvana when I am 80!

I agree, the 80's and 90's had good music and I dust off the CD's every once in a while. I just dont understand how or when people stop listening to new music. How do people get stuck in a music era? I know music ties you emotionally to a particular time in life, but isnt that like living in the past? I like everything from The Stones to Jack Johnson, George Clinton to Braid Paisley and more.

Paramore is good! I also like Shinny Toy Guns, Fall Out Boy, My Chem, Panic at the Disco, Pepper, well just about all the new bands. Check out www.indie103.1.com for some nice Indy bands.
